Public Speakers Perform


St Clare’s Primary School at Narellan Vale was the host for the Catholic Primary Schools Public Speaking Competition Finals, held on Wednesday November 10. Following Regional Elimination Finals twelve students from Years Five and Six represented their schools.

Year 5 finalists included Fionn Gaffney, St Michael’s Mittagong; Cameron Dignam, Ss Peter & Paul Kiama; Holly Smith, Holy Cross, Helensburgh; Chloe Fernandes St Francis of Assisi, Warrawong;Harry Bendtsen, St Clares, Narellan Vale; Hannah Farrugia, St Pius X, Unanderra. Year 6 contestants were Mitchell Clark, St Michael’s, Nowra; Isabelle stone, St Anthony’s Picton; Lily Hatwell, St Mary’s Milton; Jonathon Talamaivao, St John’s Campbelltown; Isabelle Dimeski, Stella Maris, Shellharbour and Katie Fitzpatrick, St Thomas Aquinas, Bowral.

Topics included “What a Mess,” “The Changing Face of Australia,” “Real Wealth is not Measured in Money or Possessions,” “A Smile Says Everything,” “From Little Things Big Things Grow,” “It’s Cool to be Different,” and “My Life is a Ball.”

Catholic Development Fund sponsors were represented by Trevor Kellam. The Director of Schools Peter Turner spoke and presented Awards to all participants.
