On behalf of the Director of Schools, Mr Peter Turner, I am delighted to announce the launch of Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong, CEDoW's new Lighting the Way Faith & Learning Awards and Recognition Program.

Over the past 12 months we have been exploring the ways in which as a system of Catholic schools, we can acknowledge and affirm the significant contributions of staff to our overarching mission and vision to create vibrant Catholic school communities where every student finds meaning and purpose. We are pleased to present a fresh and meaningful approach to the way the outstanding achievements and career milestones of our committed and dedicated staff, in schools and in the Catholic Education Office, are celebrated.

You will find attached to this email, a copy of the Awards & Recognition Program information statement. As Carolyn identified, there will be two key conferring events held annually. These are the Accreditation Recognition Ceremony, acknowledging teachers achieving NESA accreditation levels of Proficient, Highly Accomplished and Lead, and the Lighting the Way Faith & Learning Awards Evening, where the Outstanding Achievement Awards will be presented by the Bishop and the Director of Schools. 

You will note that the nomination period for the Outstanding Achievement Awards opens on 17 July 2017 (first day of Term 3). An online nomination form will be available from that date.
