Remembering. Healing. Reconciliation.

The Appin Massacre Memorial event is held in recognition of the Aboriginal people who were killed by government troops in April 1816. Held annually for over 20 years, this memorial is an important cultural gathering for Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people to come together in a spirit of reconciliation and healing.

The Memorial Ceremony involves a short walk to the site. Appropriate footwear, hats, sunscreen and bottled water are recommended. As the site has limited seating available, please feel free to bring your own fold up chairs.

The event will take place regardless of weather conditions.

Date: Sunday, 14 April 2019
Time: 11:00am – 3:30pm
Venue: Cataract Dam Picnic Area, Appin
