CEDoW much loved Christmas art competition returns to Wollongong Art Gallery

After two years as a virtual event, students, parents and staff from Catholic primary schools across the diocese gathered together once more for the anticipated exhibition launch of the 2022 Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong (CEDoW) Christmas Story Art Competition, at the Wollongong Art Gallery on Wednesday 12 October. Painted wooden cutting boards, pointillism style painting and threaded gold wire were amongst the creative and innovative techniques used in the winning artworks to bring the spirit of Christmas alive.

Macarthur Catholic school students benefit from a $21m investment in new facilities

Students at three Catholic schools in the Macarthur officially celebrated more than $21m worth of new facilities when the Bishop of Wollongong, Most Rev Brian Mascord, visited Magdalene Catholic College in Narellan, followed by St Benedict’s Catholic College and St Justin’s Catholic Primary School in Oran Park last Thursday 1 September to bless and open the facilities.

Planting Trees for the Bees at Corpus Christi

Corpus Christi students under the guidance of the WEN Teacher Contact, Mr Justin Gallinar have planted some beautiful natives in preparation for the beehive which is planned for the end of Term 3. The school was lucky enough to secure donations of 160 tube stock from Jamberoo Native Nursery and a selection of 'bush tucker' natives from Bunnings Shellharbour, with the intent of adding to the existing gardens and providing additional sources of pollen and nectar for when the bees arrive later this year. Over the course of a week, a range of classes spent time in the school gardens planting away as part of the school's National Tree Day celebrations.

Corpus Christi Catholic High School students join with innovative designers to create solar lights for energy poverty communities

Macarthur Catholic schools rally together to support Tongan Disaster Appeal
