The opportunity to engage with culture and explore career pathways, saw 120 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, from years 10, 11, and 12 in Catholic schools across the Diocese of Wollongong, join together, with Elders and Community leaders, for the launch of CEDoW's inaugural Bangawarra Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Secondary Students Engagement and Pathways Program at Kiama.

On a night of Eucharistic celebration, the Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong (CEDoW) community gathered for our annual Education Mass at St John Vianney Co-Cathedral, Fairy Meadow. The inspiring occasion also marked the official launch of the organisation’s new strategic plan, Lighting The Way 2023+, which was presented to the Bishop of Wollongong, Most Rev. Brian Mascord DD.

Five 2022 HSC graduates recently took their first step towards fulfilling a career in teaching, when each was awarded a $20,000 scholarship from CEDoW Director of Schools, Mr Peter Hill, on Friday 3rd February.

2022 marked the fifth year of CEDoW's Environmental Education Grants program, a significant support to the ecological conversion journey of our diocesan schools.
These grants have been offered to schools since 2018 and have enabled schools to engage in inspiring, practical and affirming ecological projects that have contributed positively to our world. Each year schools are invited to apply for a grant of $2,000 for an ecological project that is connected to an action from their School Environment Management Plan (SEMP).

Last Friday evening, the CDF Sports Awards officially returned with a bang—the first live event in two years. It was a celebration of all that is great about sport in the Diocese of Wollongong and a positive advertisement of the pathways available to students and teachers.
The evening, held at St Mary Star of the Sea College, Wollongong, attracted more than 450 guests with another 400 attending virtually. It proved to be a fitting culmination to a busy and difficult sporting year marked by extreme weather and COVID-19 restrictions.
