Part of realising our mission 'to create vibrant Catholic school communities where every student finds meaning and purpose in their life through experiencing continual growth in faith and improvement in learning' is the growth and affirmation of the people in our schools and education offices.
Opportunities to pay tribute to high achieving individuals is symbolic of the commitment of Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong (CEDoW) to authentic and continuous improvement for the students and staff in our schools.
The purpose for the development of this Awards and Recognition Program is inspired by the core diocesan documents that articulate the mission, values, vision and strategic direction embodied in Lighting the Way.
This program has been developed to provide an awards and recognition structure for whole of system acknowledgement of achievement and service of staff in schools, personnel of the Catholic Education Office (CEO) and Year 12 students. Rightly it is underpinned by our espoused core values of integrity, compassion, justice and hope.
This awards and recognition structure is founded on the belief that every staff member is a leader in our schools through the direct and indirect work they undertake to enrich and develop their students in faith and learning.
CEDoW is grateful for the ongoing support of the Catholic Development Fund as the major sponsor of our Lighting the Way Faith and Learning Recognition Awards.
