Director of Schools, Mr Peter Hill, is delighted to announce the launch of the Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong Lighting the Way Faith and Learning Awards and Recognition Program.

The annual Awards and Recognition Program acknowledges and affirms the significant contributions of staff to our overarching mission and vision to create vibrant Catholic school communities where every student finds meaning and purpose. We are pleased to present a meaningful approach to the way the outstanding achievements and career milestones of our committed and dedicated staff, both in diocesan Catholic schools and in the Catholic Education Office, are celebrated.

NOMINATIONS DATES

Nominations for the Outstanding Achievement Awards – including Professional Practice Awards, the Outstanding Early Career Teachers Award and the Outstanding Support Staff Award – are now closed.

To be eligible for consideration, please complete the online nomination form during the designated nomination period and submit before the advertised closing date. See our process for submitting staff award nominations.

The Moderating Panel will assess the applications received and will develop a shortlist of nominations based on merit according to the relevant criteria. The panel will then make recommendations to the Director of Schools through the Awards and Recognition Organising Committee. The Director of Schools approves the recipients of all awards. The Director’s decision is final.

Lighting the Way Faith and Learning Recognition Awards Evening

The annual Lighting the Way Faith and Learning Recognition Awards Evening is an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of our CEDoW teachers and staff. It is an official and esteemed event in the annual diocesan calendar, attended by nominees and supporting school staff, principals and CEO personnel.

Recipients of the following awards will be announced on the evening: 

The Lighting the Way Faith and Learning Recognition Awards Evening will be held on Friday, 1 April 2022 from 7pm at The Cube, Campbelltown Catholic Club.

 

Bishop's Student Excellence Awards CEREMONY

The Bishop's Student Excellence Awards seek to recognise the religious, academic and community-based achievement one Year 12 student from each Catholic secondary school across the Diocese of Wollongong. As an official and esteemed event in the annual diocesan calendar, these awards will be conferred at an afternoon ceremony, with an invitation extended to the students' parents and family members.

The Bishop's Student Excellence Awards Ceremony will be held on Tuesday, 23 August 2022 at a venue to be confirmed.
