Director of Schools’ Award

As part of the annual Lighting the Way Faith and Learning Recognition Awards Evening, the Director of Schools retains the absolute discretion to confer an exceptional Distinguished Achievement Recognition Award in any given year.  

The Distinguished Achievement Recognition Award is an exceptional acknowledgement, awarded to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the overarching mission of Catholic education in the Diocese.

In 2017, Dr Brian Croke was named a most worthy recipient of the Director's Distinguished Achievement Recognition Award.  

As the Executive Director of the former Catholic Education Commission NSW for 23 years, Dr Croke was commended for his excellent leadership, expertise and energetic commitment to the cause and ideals of Catholic education on a state, national and international level. His highly distinguished and most significant contribution saw him honoured as a leader of influence in the Catholic sector and beyond, for the best part of four decades.

In 2018, Suz Marden received this well-deserved award and recognition. 

Suz Marden has worked in Catholic Education since 1979 as a teacher, Assistant Principal, Principal, facilitator and leader. Over the last eleven years, as the CEDoW Leader of the Spiritual Formation Team, Suz has delivered a Spiritual Formation Framework for staff within the Wollongong Diocese. She has led the development and facilitation of programs that have created transformational change at a personal, school and system level. Suz is well known as a collaborative leader, passionate and credible with a deep faith that has guided her work in Catholic Education. Her commitment and vision is well recognised by school and office staff and she has laid a foundation in the area of Spiritual Formation that will not be shaken.

 

LIGHTING THE WAY FAITH AND LEARNING RECOGNITION AWARDS EVENING

In 2019, the Lighting the Way Faith and Learning Recognition Awards Evening will be held on Friday, 22 November 2019 at the Campbelltown Catholic Club.

The annual Lighting the Way Faith and Learning Recognition Awards Evening is an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of our CEDoW teachers and staff. It is an official and esteemed event in the annual Diocesan calendar, attended by all the evening's nominees, and supporting school staff, principals and CEO personnel.
