CEDoW Secondary Students Excel in 2021 VET Awards

A number of secondary students in Catholic schools throughout the Diocese of Wollongong, enrolled in Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses as part of their HSC, have been recognised for their hard work and commitment to their chosen framework of studies and workplace training. The various awards held throughout the year, showcased the many talented students from Catholic, Independent and Government schools across the state.

Macarthur students showcase their VET expertise at VETsteddFOOD event

Vocational Education and Training (VET) students from our Macarthur Catholic secondary schools have helped produce a wonderful morning of entertainment and a delicious feast for over 350 local senior citizens at the inaugural VETsteddFOOD.

The unique event saw Camden Civic Centre filled to capacity, as more than 120 VET students – including those from Magdalene Catholic College, NarellanJohn Therry Catholic High School, RosemeadowSt Benedict’s Catholic College, Oran Park; and Mater Dei, Camden – put their skills to the test.

For the love of food: John Therry students cook up a storm

The group is studying the VET subject of Hospitality as part of their Higher School Certificate; they were offered this unique learning experience from local non-profit, MWLP, as part of their mandatory work placement requirements.
