The Positive Behaviour Framework, a well-researched evidence based approach, outlines the underlining philosophy in CEDoW on how schools approach behaviour. This framework involves a whole-school approach to creating a positive, safe and supportive school environment in which all students can learn and develop. School communities work together to teach and support behaviour expectations at school.
All aspects of the school including, the classrooms, playground and procedures for arrival and dismissal, are considered integral parts of the total learning environment. Teachers deliver instruction in a set of behaviour expectations and examples of positive behaviours are acknowledge and rewarded. All members of the school community are responsible for knowing the behaviour expectations and providing consistent positive feedback to students.
