We are excited to announce that the 2021 CDF Sports Awards will involve a virtual presentation, ready to view online at 6.45pm on Friday 12 November.

This will be the 24th annual awards evening and our sincere thanks go to the Catholic Development Fund for their continued sponsorship and support.

With COVID-19 restrictions and return to school timelines set by the NSW government, the potential to run a ‘live’ evening, with our anticipated 450-500 audience, presented a number of safety concerns.

In a year that has been extremely challenging, our virtual event will provide a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the efforts and achievements of our student athletes.

It is important to acknowledge that some students, despite selection in MacKillop or NSWCCC teams were unable to perform at these higher pathway events due to cancellations. For students who excel in the sport of athletics, sadly there were no carnivals or selections held for a second year. This is certainly disappointing for all these students who have missed these opportunities and the chance to be recognised at our awards this year.

We look forward to the 2021 CDF ‘virtual’ sports awards and the opportunity to acknowledge our Wollongong athletes.
