As you are aware the NSW Government has announced the Greater Sydney lockdown until at least Friday, 30 July with a further review at the end of this time. After consultation and review of the complexities involved, the events listed below are now cancelled.
- Secondary Athletics - Friday 23 July
- Primary West Region Athletics - Friday 30 July
- South Coast Region Athletics - Tuesday 3 August
- Eschol Park Soccer Gala Day - Thursday 5 August
- All South Coast Soccer Gala Days - Friday 6 August
We share your disappointment in these decisions, however given the timing of these events either in or so close to the lockdown period and with each event listed involving multiple schools, large numbers of teams, parent/carer drop off and pick up complexities and involvement from many external officials & providers it became a sensible decision in the end.
We will be considering, if Wollongong a team is required at the MacKillop trials or NSWCCC Championships later in term 3, a process or selection trial to select our primary and secondary athletics teams. At this stage CSNSW are unsure if these athletics events will go ahead and are waiting on advice and further discussion.
