I invite you to journey with the Magi, as they struggled on steep hills and mountains.

I selected darker and earthy tones of umber brown and moss green for the hills to contrast with the predominant colours of my artwork - persian, phthalo, cornflower and tiffany blue sky. It symbolises trust, loyalty, wisdom, intelligence and faith.

Mosaic brings you back centuries to the Byzantine period, when it was used as an art medium to decorate sacred places of Jerusalem. I combined small, broken tiles to show how individuals are united by faith in God.

I named my work “Follow Your Faith” to remind us of the Magi. When someone like King Herod tries to trick you, stay loyal and faithful to God. When the Magi visited Jesus, they gave him the best gifts according to their traditions. Each had a spiritual meaning: gold as a symbol of kingship on earth, frankincense as a symbol of deity, and myrrh as symbol of death. Personally I follow what God believes is right for me.

It is important to stay true and loyal to yourself and your faith. While working on my artwork, I set myself to bring Jesus closer to my heart.
