Year 6 students from St Columbkille’s Catholic Primary School Corrimal recently engaged in a Zoom conference with university students living in Japan. These students are currently involved in a program called ‘Project Unite’ which is based around the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Year 6 presented on a range of topics that focused on environmental and sustainability issues and procedures that the school has in place within the local and wider community. Some topics shared included the school garden, ’The Patch’, recycling and rubbish disposal, Trash Free Tuesday and the Enviro Ninjas Leadership Team. Students were given the opportunity to ask questions of the Japanese students which strengthened their knowledge about Japan, the culture and traditions of the people and the country.
A wonderful connection proving we are all part of a global family and can all contribute to caring for our common home.
