Workplace Learning
Work Placement is a mandatory HSC component of all Higher School Certificate (HSC) Industry Curriculum Framework courses and many Stage 6 VET Board Endorsed Courses.
VET courses are now available not only to students in Years 11 and 12 but to students in Years 9 and 10 as VET in Stage 5. Each placement provides on-the-job training and a practical understanding of each course.
Students must complete at least 70 hours of unpaid work placement for each 240 hours of study from a VET Industry Curriculum Framework.
Students who do not complete their work placement are at risk of being issued with an ‘N’ determination as outlined in NESA's Assessment, Certification and Examinations (ACE) Manual.
