Corpus Christi Catholic High School students join with innovative designers to create solar lights for energy poverty communities

As demands on energy supplies grow in Australia, budding scientists, engineers and mathematicians at Corpus Christi Catholic High School, Oak Flats joined some of Australia’s most innovative designers and educators to build a ‘SolarBuddy’—a small solar light designed specifically for children—to help students in Papua New Guinea study after dark.

Macarthur Catholic schools rally together to support Tongan Disaster Appeal

A Home for the Birds at St Michael's Nowra

St. Michael's Nowra had a visit from the Nowra Men's Shed who built a Nesting Box for the school grounds with the hope of attracting endangered Powerful Owls or Black Cockatoos into the school. The nesting box will be located in the Black Cockatoo Garden with the Year 6 Aboriginal student leaders being involved in the project.

Combating Mask Waste at Holy Spirit College

With the pandemic we continue to witness the generation of an enormous amount of waste that goes to landfill or collects in waterways and bushland. One culprit is the disposable mask.

Like many of our CEDoW schools, the staff and students at Holy Spirit College Bellambi continue to seek ways of lessening their environmental footprint and are utilising TerraCycle to collect and recycle some of the masks used across the school community.

Catholic school students overcome unprecedented obstacles to achieve HSC success

More than a thousand students from our eight systemic Catholic secondary schools completed the HSC this year. 291 students were acknowledged as Distinguished Achievers, with a further four All-round Achievers, six Top Achievers, two of whom took out First in Course.
