Spirit of Service: 2025 Bishop's Student Excellence Awards

01 October 2025

Nine Year 12 students were recently recognised for their achievements and contributions to their school communities at the 2025 Bishop's Student Excellence Awards.

Presented by Bishop Brian Mascord, these awards honour one Year 12 student from each secondary and K–12 school who embodies the values of integrity, compassion, justice, and hope. The award recipients have each lived out our mission to ensure all members of our communities, in the words of St John, “have life, and have it in abundance”. Each, in their own way, has made a significant and lasting impact on the vibrancy of their Catholic school community.

Peter Hill, Executive Director of Schools, praised the students: “You are the heart of our school communities. Each of you, in your own way, has given expression to the deepest ideals of Catholic education: not simply through words or beliefs, but through daily acts of kindness, courage, and service. Your efforts stand as testimony to what is possible when faith is lived, not merely spoken.

"[These students'] efforts stand as testimony to what is possible when faith is lived, not merely spoken."

Recipients of the Bishop’s Student Excellence Award are nominated by their school principal for their commitment to Gospel values, their active involvement in the faith life of their school and parish, their dedication to learning, and their service to others through social justice and community engagement.
