The anticipated wait for HSC results is finally over for the Class of 2023, with the hard work, resilience and dedication paying off for many students.
More than a thousand students from our eight systemic Catholic secondary schools and one K-12 college completed the HSC this year, resulting in 347 students receiving top honors - 335 Distinguished Achievers, with a further five All-Round Achievers, six Top Achievers, and one First in Course.
The Director of Schools in the Diocese of Wollongong, Peter Hill, said that it’s clear the challenges presented in Year 12 have prepared students for their future.
“There is nothing more powerful than liberating the hearts, minds and spirits of young people, and watching them thrive,” he said. “We all know that education can transform the lives of students, and the acknowledgement of their hard work and dedication to their studies is well deserved.
“Through their academic achievements, witnessing to their faith, and leading their fellow students, the work ethic and commitment these students have displayed exemplifies the qualities we are proud to see in our students.
“I know I speak for our principals and teachers in saying it is a bittersweet thing to bid Year 12 farewell, but our loss is the world’s gain. The resilience and tenacity they have developed will ensure they are well prepared for life after secondary school” - Peter Hill, Director of Schools.
On behalf of the teachers and staff at our Catholic schools and the Catholic Education Office, we would like to congratulate the class of 2023 for their achievements this year.
