An angel appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, “Get up, take the child and his mother, and flee to Egypt and remain there until I tell you, for Herod is about to search for the child to destroy him”.  Mary and Joseph trusted the Lord and began their journey to Egypt just as we heard in Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding in all your ways submit to him, and he will make straight your paths”. God has his own plan for you just like he had a plan for Mary and Joseph and it was the best for them, because their child could’ve been killed.  

My connection with this passage is when I had to leave my country and flee to a safer place or I would’ve been prosecuted for being a Christian. I chose this type of painting because it is special to me and I enjoyed doing it. 

With the sky I used light blue and black then painted little white dots. Mary’s clothes were dull blue and Joseph’s clothes were dark red. I used dark brown, orange and black to paint the ground.
