My artwork is inspired by the Scripture Passage Matthew 2:9-12, ‘The Visit Of The Magi.’ In this passage, the Three Wise Men set out on a journey to deliver special gifts to our new King. They follow a path that leads them to our Saviour of the world.
This is similar to how we follow our own paths that lead us on our own ways to God. Our life is like an adventure, it’s unexpected and is filled with many different paths to follow. You just have to decide which one is right. Yes, life may have its ups and downs, but you just have to believe, and in doing so you will be rewarded by the gifts of Jesus in heaven. In my artwork, the sky is filled with a unique glistening star. This symbolises that every birth is special, whether it be Jesus’ or your own. We’re all unique and one of a kind, with our own talents.
The mediums I used to create my artwork were POSCA Pencils and Paint-Pens. I used the pencils to outline the subject in my artwork with a darker colour and then blended into a lighter colour. I also used the POSCA Paint-Pens to add highlights.
