'Words of the Lord'

“He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High and the Lord God will give him the throne of his father David” (Luke 1:32)

My artwork is an image of the Angel Gabriel. I have painted him standing ready to deliver God’s message. We can see his strength and purpose as he waits patiently for Mary knowing that his words will change her life and save the world.

My figurative artwork using acrylic paint on a torn paper collage contrasts ancient biblical text and modern manga art. By placing Gabriel within God’s words, represents the trusted relationship between them. Gabriel was truly benevolent, caring and loving and is surrounded by beauty and light.

The words of the Lord may be spoken to us, through someone else. Learning knowledge about Gabriel was a truly blessed experience, through Gabriel, I have heard the words of the Lord.
