Inspired by the scripture ‘Birth of Christ’ and the artist Mike Moyers, ‘The Angel Visits Joseph', is heavily inspired by the feeling of uncertainty you get in your heart when you experience the unknown.

I wanted to portray the difference between an angel and a human. To represent these, I chose a more spiritual, transparent look for the angel. I wanted the angel to give off a warm, but dramatic presence, the presence of God, to Joseph. Joseph is viewed from a side profile to allow the audience to engage with his feelings towards the heavenly presence of the angel.

I chose digital form for this artwork, as I am always excited to try out new things on technology. I decided to give the angel an aura. A warm, calm one. I chose to depict Joseph wearing a sudra, a head covering made of woven cloth which was routinely worn by the Jews in late antiquity.
